The old and the new...

W

We are having a Celebration of my mom's life on Mothers Day.  After that we have less than two weeks of school left.  It will be time to get out in the garden and that is always therapeutic.
I am an only child of two of the most wonderful parents a girl could ask for.  They didn't spoil me except for love. Bought me up with good values and an appreciation for all that life has to offer.
Mom has lived with us for seven years so she leaves behind a big empty spot that I am trying to fill with wonderful memories, of which I have a lot.

These are some older photos of Ryker that I took this year and never got around to posting. I hope you enjoy them.
~Sandy

All the snow is fanailly gone from the yard and the crocus have poked their pretty heads out of the ground.

A sure sign of renewal.

  2. Great photos! Got a good chuckle of the one with your butt in the air Ryker :)

Gardening is great therapy. Mom says she's happiest when there's dirt on her knees and under her nails ;)

  6. Such sweetness emerging from Ryker's eyes. Your Mom is living in you and will always be apart of you. My Dad's both lost their Mom's(one-4 yr ago and the other in 1998). They tell me they think they hear their Moms in their voices sometimes...so it's only normal to want o celebrate these special women. Cheers!

  7. Oh, Sandy, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's wonderful that you and your mom were able to spend so much time together these last few years.

My mom has been gone for five years now, and I still think about her nearly every day.

    Take care of yourself,
    Pat

  10. Dear Sandy,
I am so very sorry to hear this news of your Mother. I agree with the others,... what a Special Woman she was to have raised a Beautiful Daughter like you. Hang on to all the wonderful memories you have of her and it will help your heart heal. It is so true, too...your mom is living in you and will always be a part of you. I truly believe this.
    Sending you Lots of Love,
    Joan

  17. This is the perfect blog for anyone who wants to know about this topic. You know so much it’s almost hard to argue with you (not that I really would want...Ha-ha). You definitely put a new spin on a subject that been written about for years. Great stuff, just great!

  18. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful mom with us, Sandy. I feel blessed that we were able to enjoy her beautiful smile. Sending lots of love your way. Tell Ryker to give you both a big hug from us. (And then give him one right back from us -- we miss that little face) =)

  19. You must miss her. We still miss our Grandpa and the first holiday after is always the worst. But I hope you try to have a nice Mothers day, she would have wanted that.

Great photos of Ryker as always. :)

  20. Thank you one and all. We are very touched by your comments and support. The Celebration of her Life went well, we had a big turn out and many fond memories were shared. I will do a post soon. Ryker was very well behaved with the many friends coming and going. I think he enjoyed a few snacks as well! School will be out in two weeks and we will be pet siting our neighbors rescued "fear aggressive" dog. That should prove interesting. He and Ryker do not get along, I hope we can change that as they live right behind us. It would be nice if they could become friends. I will need to do a post on that and get some sage advice.
