There's Gold in them there hills






Well, you can't live long in Alaska with out trying your paw at gold panning. At least that was my experience.  It also makes for fun male bonding time with dad.


He chose the Little Susitna River for this adventure.











Do you see any gold, huh dad, huh???





Well, we did get some flakes of gold.  Enough to want to come back and do it again!





 So there is gold in these here hills and streams.    Pawing for gold is fun!

    So which is the more effective technique? Panning for gold or digging, using your snooter??

    Just enough gold found to get dad (who's too shy to show his face I see) hooked!
    Those pictures could have been taken in BC, which has it's own history of gold. Lovely!
    Bet the water was cold though, and hope you found a good spot in it to have a bit of a swim, looks like you might have needed one:)

    What a beautiful place to go whether you found gold or not! Mom said she panned for gold when she was little and went to visit Colorado. I hope you get to go back and find some more!

    What a great outing Ryker! Gold panning! Wow! Mom's like bouncing in her chair saying, "I want to do that! I want to do that!" Chill Mom. Maybe if you're real nice to me for...well let's see...every day all year ;) I'll take ya ;) Oooo getting the glare stare now :O
