I Play Hard...torn ACL

Well now I've gone and done it!  When I play I play hard with total disregard for my body and injuries.  Vet man said I've torn my ACL and I may need surgery.  Mama is taking me to a specialist to get more information before we make a plan.

In the meantime no more fun in the snow :(

And mama says no jumping and running!

What's a dog to do?????

This is bad news, I'm so very sad about this but want to get better so will have to comply.

It's not in my nature to be still, play is my middle name.  Mama is a Nurse and is not cutting me any slack.  Whoa is me...

NO RUNNING RYKER!!!!!

  2. Oh poor Ryker!! Our angel brother Gizmo tore his ACL (he was guarding with enthusiasm) and it pretty much healed on its own, but us rotates aren't as active as you Aussies! Stay calm!!

  3. Oh no! I always worry about that with my two, especially Luna, who also doesn't care how she abuses her body. Is it a complete tear, or a partial? From what I have read, a partial can heal but a complete tear would have to be fixed surgically? Arghh! I hope the specialist gives you some not too bad news!

  5. Hope the specialist has good news for you...you might be able to swim?? Ask your Mama she knows best. Boy are you going to be a handful for a couple of months. In the olden days dogs just slowed down after an injury and limped along :)

    1. Mama says swimming will be good. She has to make an appointment with K9
aquatics as all our lakes are frozen.

  6. Oh now! Poor Ryker. My daughter's dog tore her ACL and had to do surgery about a year ago. There's nothing harder than keeping an energetic dog quiet. I sure hope you'll be feeling better soon.
