Grandma love is the best love

n

Most of you know that my grandma is 90 and lives with us.  I consider myself a very luck pup.  Grandmas spoil you and they drop a lot of food if your lucky  ; )      Here's  a whole slew of photos with me and grandma.  Mickie,  grandmas cat wiggled his way into a few of the shots.  Silly cats!

There you have it.  Mom says all her grandparents had passed on by the time she was two years old so she doesn't remember them.  So sad.  Too bad I didn't get to meet my grandpa.  Mom says I would have loved him and him me.  He was a dog person and really good at training dogs too.  He trained terriers and poodles to retrieve ducks!  His duck dogs would put the Labradors to shame out on the flats. He he, would have liked to have seen that!

Grandma Lovin' Preview

Mom took a whole bunch of photos of me and Grandma just before I injured my leg.  She was lovin' all over me!  We are good pals.

These are just a preview.  Mom said she would have time tomorrow to post a bunch more.

Wordless Wednesday

e

NOT... I just can't post this photo and not tell you all about it, now can I?   Mom was playing Frisbee with me last night before dinner in a big open snow covered field.  She saw black dots on the snow and realized I was bleeding.  She wrapped my foot and leg up in a towel and drove me straight home and carried me into the house.  She said my Dew Claw Pad was split wide open.  She said I must have cut it on some ice or a sharp rock, maybe even some broken glass?  She put a pressure dressing on it and called the 24hr. Vet.  They said to bring me right in so off we go again.

The Dr. said he would need to do surgery later that night to re-sect the wound and do internal and external stitches and cover it with  dog proof bandage. That she should leave me there and if all went well I could go home in the morning with some pain medications and antibiotics.

I thought mom was gonna cry and I was not going in the back room without a fight!  Well, I did not win that fight but mom gave me her sweater to sleep with while I waited.

All went well and dad picked me up this morning and brought me home.  He kept taking pictures of me and texting them to mom at work so she  could see how I was doing.  I was really disappointed that she didn't pick me up with dad.  Now I had to wait all day to see her!

Mom came straight home from work and I gave her a greeting she will never forget... gave her another rash on her face from so much lickin' !
I gotta wear this thing on my leg for 3 weeks!  Leash walking only and have to cover it with a bag when I go outside in the snow... we got lots more snow and I can't play in it!  Cruel World!

The good thing is I don't have to wear the "cone of shame", I only lick people!

I found my better half

.

I wanted to join the fun!  Mom went to petfinder.com for me and I found Shelby.  She is one of 60+ Aussies up for adoption!  That is so very sad.  I hope they can all find loving homes like mine.  Shelby looks a lot like me right down to the blue eyes.  A very handsome girl.

Shelby

Shelby is a seven year old Australian Shepherd looking for her forever home. She is located in Bellingham WA.  Shelby loves children and adults and is is energetic and loves to play.  She would prefer to be an only pet as she is not dog or cat friendly.

                                                                              May

Mom was born and lived in a house that was on the bluff and had this exact view.  Unfortunately the house was demolished in a big earthquake.  Moms dad had a duck hunting cabin below Sleeping Lady and mom would hunt there with her dad every fall.  Man, I wish I could have met him. He loved dogs and passed that love on to mom.  The last three dogs he had were Welsh Terriers like our friend George the Lad.

These next two shots are taken in McGrath, Alaska.  It is a village of about four hundred people in interior Alaska.  There are no roads to McGrath, you have to fly in and out.

So there you have it. Hope you enjoyed my web cam tour.

I Like it Raw !

w

Mom has me on a Raw diet now.  She does mostly the BARF model with some PREY model as well.  I like it all!  Nothing like a big meaty bone and ox tails.  What's for dinner tonight? Pure grass fed, hormone and abx. free, free range  New Zealand Venison, with spinach, broccoli, fish oil and a sardine on top!

Mom uses Bravo brand after a ton of research and she is very pleased with the quality of their product.
You can go to there website and see for yourself      www.bravorawdiet.com

Scarf, scarf, scarf

Karma likes raw too.  Her favorites are salmon and beef.

Mort likes to get in on the act.

So there you have it!  It took mom a while to work into the totally raw diet for me but I am glad she did.  I'm loving it.  I had a sensitivity to poultry in the past but mom says she will try me with some raw chicken in a few months and see how it goes.  Chicken backs are wonderful and I am really hoping I can eat them again.
