Going to the Dog Park, Going to the Dog Park Baby! Yes, We're Going to the Dog Park, Going to the Dog Park Baby!

Mom says I should do commercials for Subaru. What do you think?

This is the trail to Connors Lake at my favorite Dog Park.

By the time we get there I am ready for a big drink!

It's really pretty here and always lots of friends to play with...get a look at that Corgi!

Time to get in the game!

This may be my last swim for the season. Mom said this was the first time I wanted to quit and headed back to the trail. It was pretty chilly!

AND NOW FOR A PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT:

YORK SPCA: "Nikki", Blind Border Collie

Please see the attached pictures and story below about a sweet border collie who needs rescue. We have no fosters available at this time but this woman contacted Blind Dog Rescue Alliance about the dog. The words below are from an experienced rescuer/transporter who let us know that the dog was in need. If you are able to help please contact intake@blinddogrescue.com. We can get more contact information, etc. if needed. If you can not help but know of someone who may be able to help, please forward this message to them. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this sweet boy.
I was at York SPCA to evaluate some huskies today and checked out the sight impaired border collie as well. First, I apologize I didn't take any pictures of him. He is an intact male, all black with white on his chest and belly, about 4ish, named Nikki. He is SOOOO loving and affectionate. A great dog. I honestly can not tell if he is completely blind or has some distant sight. If he is completely blind he has kicked his other senses into overdrive and adapted greatly. He is not available yet. His owner is in prison and they just need to get paperwork signed by him so Nikki can become available. He is very sweet and put his front paws on me to get in my face and give kisses. Loves belly rubs. He does really well with other dogs, also.
If you can help Nikki, please contact:

They are back.....

Well OK, they never go too far as they live in the park that surrounds our neighborhood. They mostly hang out inside the neighborhood because we have all the delicacies like my vegi garden and clematis vines, etc. The twins are getting big!

So we stoped for a few quick shots and then on to the Pet Zoo! We have Petco and next month Pet Smart is opening...but one of my favorites is Pet Zoo and I will show you why.

They have all the usual goodies....

Oh yum, these smell tasty

Ahhh, this is the best reason to come to Pet Zoo. They put bunnies, ferrets and guinea pigs on the floor in pens so they can run around and tease me! Today is is just bunnies. I like this big one. Look how good I can sit when mom makes me! It takes Enormous self control !!!

OK, all out of self control...I gotta get in the action!

OK, I"ll admit that I did chase the bunny around in his pen till he knocked over his food dish and made a ruckus. But can you blame me? I got very excited, and apparantly so did he! Mom took me away :(
and we bought food and a glowing blue ball that I fell in love with...now we can even play ball in the dark!
I Love Pet Zoo outings!

Rushed Harvest......

Mom totally freaked out Sunday morning, she was running around the house hollering "It's snowing! I can't believe it, it's snowing out side!"
Well, it didn't snow very hard or for very long but it surely did snow. Pretty darn early for snow even for us up here in Alaska.
Mom had to go out and pull up all the carrots, clean them and put them away. She said she needed to do this anyhow because the Mama Moose and her twins had eaten all the tops off the carrots during the night.

Mama's carrots are pretty tasty

Mom likes carrots, duh! And they are a crop that the moose do not bother much. These are the keepers, about half as many we gave to friends and neighbors. The apples and cherries did not have enough time to ripen, so sad.
