Mother Nature Rages

Thousands of homes and businesses in Anchorage and Mat-Su remained without power this afternoon as residents recovered from an overnight storm that blasted the region with high winds, uprooted trees and downed electrical lines. No serious injuries had been reported as of noon.

Well, we did not loose power and no trees fell on our house. We did however lose a beloved tree.
It was a 12 year old MayDay tree that mama planted outside Grandma's window.  This makes mama sad.
We tried to save it but the damage was too much.
Don't be sad mama.  I'll help you plant a new one in the spring.

As we took a walk we realized that things could have been much worse...
Trees were down everywhere we turned!

I like trees, this is what I think about the whole thing!  Poop on this devastation!!!

I feel bad for these people...

The forest is like a fun house today!  Everything is Topsy tervey!
Wow, even our flowers took a beating.

We are very thankful that no one was hurt during this storm.

We had to read the news online today.
The storm-caused power outage has delayed the printing and distribution of Wednesday's Anchorage Daily News.
Wednesday newspapers will be delivered to home subscribers on Thursday, along with the Thursday edition.
Power at the newspaper plant was out from late Tuesday until early Wednesday morning, preventing the press from running.

Kinda makes one think a bit.
