Beautiful Memorial Day !

First off we would like to give thanks to those  who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our constitution, and the republic of the United States. And we hope that all of you had a good Memorial Day.

(Weather persons here have been predicting rain for the past week and a half...luckily they have been wrong and we have had the most gorgeous weather.  It was 74 F here today and it felt like 80!  Today Ryker learned to swim and he swam till he could hardy go on, almost falling asleep in the water!)

Great day to head off to the Dog Park!!! It was hot so we walked straight to Connors Lake.  I'm embarrassed to admit that I did not know how to swim. Last summer as a puppy I found it cold and scary. I would walk in up to my chest but that was it!

There were all kinds of dogs there and Frisbee was the game of choice.  Now that's a game I know and love!

I made lots of new friends and then my good friend Molni showed up.  She is a cute little Blue Healer. Look at her sticking out her tongue at the camera!  She is a good swimmer and I figured it was time for me to learn. Mama waded out in the deep water to give me confidence and in I went. On attempt #2 I did it !!!  ...then there was no stopping me!

This swimming is hard work, I'm pooped!

Time to dry off...and head home. And yeah, I fell asleep in the car again : )

Hey Mom, What's a Shepherd?

Mom drove 120 miles so I could meet these sheep. At first I wasn't sure what the lady there wanted me to do.  It was interesting and smelled good. I tried to sample the sheep poo but she waggled her white cane at me.   Then I decided to just relax and do what felt good...

The lady at the farm said I had nice natural instinct and was going to be fast.  It was fun but over before I really got going.
So, I learned that I am a Shepherd...a Mini Australian Shepherd!
I slept all the way home in the car.

Friends for life

Bandit and his mom liked this picture so we wanted to share it with all of you.  We like to post pictures of Grandma C. Most of her extended family is in the "lower 48".  She is a very sweet woman and is turning 90 in July!  She lives here with us. I especially enjoy mealtime with her, I am her little vacuum   : )

T'was a busy day!

I had a very interesting and fun day!  It all started outwith three presents left on the floor by the cats I presume.  Must have been a busy morning for them!

Then mom took me to the Horse Festival down the road and I got to see horses!  Whoa, they are big like moose but more friendly.

Missed a great photo op when I went into the Miniature donkey pen.  Three little donkeys rushed over and sniffed me up and down and all around.  They were really cute but I wasn't sure what to make of it all. It was my first donkey encounter! But I think I like those little fellas, they sure seemed to like me!

Then we went home and mom set out the sprinklers so the flowers would grow.

Next we went for a walk in the park behind our house...

Hiding in the fiddle head ferns!

On the way back we saw another moose, about a year old.

At first he was curious...

Then he got annoyed and told us to back off.  So we made a wider path around him and headed home.

On the way home I saw the scariest thing all day...it was black and round and it was moving. I circled around it but it frightened me when it would move and then I would bark at it. I never did figure out what it was because mom called me and I had to go and leave it behind.  I hope it's gone when I go by there again.

We checked the flowers and the grandma. Mickey was keeping GM company while we were out and about having a busy day.  What a good kitty.
